David Wilson Homes unveils second phase of Nantwich Stapeley Gardens development

Awarding winning homebuilder, David Wilson Homes (DWH) North West, this weekend celebrated the second phase of its Stapeley Gardens development in Nantwich.

Phase two comprises of a further 171 spacious three, four and five bedroom homes, located on the former Stapeley Water Gardens brownfield site between London Road and Peter de Stapleigh Way. Since its launch in 2013, a total of 109 homes have been sold to date.

Thirty percent of the new homes will be designated for affordable housing for local people, with the rest being made available for sale on the open market through DWH.

In addition to the provision of much needed affordable housing, £314,532 has been contributed to Cheshire East Council by DWH towards primary education in the catchment area.

An estimated £200,000 investment is also ring-fenced for various off-site highway works in the local area to reduce the impact of extra traffic coming from the development. These include:

  • A revised site access junction and the off-site junction improvement at the A51 Newcastle Road/A51 Elwood Way junction.
  • A Microprocessor Optimisation Vehicle Actuation (MOVA) traffic signal control at the junctions of A5301 Peter Destapleigh Way / A51 London Road and A51 Newcastle Road / A51 Elwood Way.
  • A Urban Traffic Control (UTC) system at the junctions of A5301 Peter Destapleigh Way/A51 London Road and A51 Newcastle Road/A51 Elwood Way in order to link the signal operation together.
  • A junction improvement at the A51 Newcastle Road/A51 Elwood Way junction.

To celebrate the Phase 2 launch event, DWH laid on a variety of activities aimed at the whole family – including Halloween themed arts and crafts for the kids, beauty, jewelley and home ware pop-up shops, a Jaguar car display and a visit from the RSPCA Adopt A Dog organisation, Crewe.
